Qena is the Program Director for Public Education Partners and brings with her over 20 years of experience in education.
As Program Director, Qena is responsible for creating, planning, and implementing initiatives within PEP’s Portfolio of Programs that enable the success of students and teachers throughout Greenville County. These programs include the award-winning Make Summer Count movement, the Greenville Alternative Teacher Education (GATE) program, and #Teach864, a program designed to elevate and celebrate the teaching profession which had over 1,200 teachers attend its inaugural event.
Qena holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Prior to joining PEP in August 2018, she held numerous positions in the field of education, and has worked as a classroom teacher, a district literacy coach and as a professional learning specialist for an early education initiative in Texas.
